We’re always looking for exceptional doulas to grow our team at PNW Doulas.

What We’re Looking For

Our doulas provide truly unbiased support to every family—and we mean every family. We embrace and celebrate diversity, supporting all birthing environments, preferences, and parenting styles with kindness and respect.

Requirements

  • Labor Doulas: Must be certified through any training organization approved by Oregon’s Medicaid program. Search “doula” here for a list of approved organizations.

  • Postpartum Doulas: Training is more flexible. ProDoula and DONA trainings are great starting points.

Schedule Flexibility:

  • Postpartum Doulas: Overnight support is currently the most needed, with some daytime shifts available.

  • Labor Doulas: Work on an on-call schedule (typically every other week) as part of a team.

  1. Already trained and ready to go?

  2. Have questions or just starting out?
    Attend one of our Info Sessions! These sessions are on Zoom and perfect for learning more about what it’s like to work with an agency, and we’ll answer all your questions.

Who Can Be a Doula?
If you’re the one people turn to when life gets tough—the calm in their storm—you likely already have what it takes. You don’t need prior birth experiences or formal education to start this career. Compassion and a judgment-free approach are what matters most.

What Does It Take to Become a Doula?

  • A 2–4 day workshop

  • First aid/CPR certification

  • Follow-up work to complete your training

Is PNW Doulas Hiring Right Now?

Yes! Our doulas work as independent contractors, and we’re always on the lookout for incredible people to join us. We currently have the greatest need in Salem, Corvallis, Bend, Eugene, Portland, and surrounding areas.
