Birth Support

You just had the most amazing ultrasound- where you got to see YOUR BABY. It’s an actual human. It’s REAL.

And it has to come out.

-Cue moment of panic-

If you aren’t feeling quite as confident in the experience as you’d like, well-

That’s where we come in.

We become your people. Your personal Google. Your safe place. You can call or text us any time to talk through the thoughts, questions, or worries on your mind. (Some even consider us their Pregnancy BFFs.) When emotions feel too big, we can help process them. If you’re unsure on birth plan ideas, questions to ask your provider, or feeding recommendations, we’re here.

But we won’t tell you how you SHOULD do it. Our only goal is helping you in figure out what feels right to YOU. We’ll do that throughout your pregnancy and at your prenatal appointment- where we sit down and talk through your hopes and dreams and plans and anxieties. Because this is YOUR birth.

And then comes the big day.

When you’re ready for your doula during labor, we’ll magically appear. Whether that’s meeting you at your home, the hospital, or a birth center. We come when you’re ready for us.

What does a doula do during labor?

It’s a bit like a dance. There are fast paced moments where your doula will be very hands on. There are slower moments where we’ll take a step back. We’ll be a calming presence and a constant support. We often hear, “I looked over at you and you gave me a look that let me know that everything was okay.” We’re always anticipating your next need.

We provide position ideas and resources. We remind you of your plans and your goals and your right to make whatever decisions feel best to you. We encourage your partner to eat, drink and rest at appropriate times- so they can be the very best support for you. And we continually insure that you feel safe, heard and respected.

Two things are are definite- we will never take the place of any other member of your support team. And we will fully support any decision you make.

After the newest addition to your family makes their appearance, we remain your person. As the attention shifts to the tiny new human in the room, you remain our top priority.

It doesn’t end when birth is over.

We follow-up with you, check in on you, answer your ongoing questions, and continue to be your people.
