Does Private Insurance Cover Doulas?

We have a HUGE announcement...

Certain private insurances are now covering doula support in the state of Oregon.

Your plans for pregnancy, birth, and beyond now has more options and we want to share all of those details with you.



As of October 1st, 2024, individuals with MODA OEBB (Oregon Educators Benefit Board) now have coverage for birth and postpartum doula support.

As of January 1st, 2025, individuals with MODA/Providence PEBB (Public Employees' Benefit Board) will have coverage for birth and postpartum doula support.

Doula support with insurance coverage offers the following:

  • A dedicated team of doulas, on-call for you from the moment the contract is signed

  • Up to 8 prenatal and postpartum visits

  • Unlimited phone & text support

  • In-person labor support

  • Postpartum support via phone & text
